| whaddaya think? | 08.17.2010 |
Ok, so the facelift for the blog is just about complete... whaddaya think? If you have an iPad, please visit this site from it and let me know your thoughts.

Here are some of the things we did and why they did them:
1. We got rid of all of the flash. We wanted to make the site iPad & iPhone friendly. As more and more people use mobile devices to surf the web, we wanted to give those people a wonderful viewing experience as well.
2. We wanted the entire page to load faster (especially on a mobile device), so we give load the excerpt on the main page, and then if you want to see the whole thing, you just have to click "read more" (which if you are reading this, you've already figured that out... way to go!)
3. The blog snapshot: I blog about all kinds of things about my life. Some have nothing to do with my business, which I think is great, but I still want to be able to show off my latest work for prospective clients, so we added a snapshot area where I can pin featured posts. When you click onto read an individual post, the blog snapshot is moved to the bottom of the page. This will come in handy incase someone is searching for something online, comes across a specific blog post, but then instead of a "related posts" section, I can share my favorite recents posts, or they can click recent posts.
4. I wanted to put an emphasis to contacting me and viewing my full wedding portfolio, so we enhanced those buttons at the top of the blog and also included them under each and every post.
5. We put a mini portfolio at the top in the header. It's different every time you visit. Click on any of the images to see them larger. You'll also notice a contact me and view portfolio button under each of those full size images.
6. The "meet [ b ]" button will launch a pop up video, in order to save space. I am working on making a new video, so don't want the current one because it's old and I don't like it (which will only make you want to watch it more!). The new video should arrive shortly.
7. Of course we have our social media buttons in place to make it easy to follow me or share a post on Twitter, connect with me or "like" it on Facebook.

I want to that Brock Martin from Infinet Design who has been helping me with my custom blog for over 4 years now. He's an absolute professional and a pleasure to work with. I also want to thank new father Tim Holmes from Reddoor for designing all of the visual elements as well as coming up with the blog snapshot idea. I am so fortunate to have such talented individuals on my team.
Please let us all know what you think in the comments below. I'd really appreciate your feedback.
