| the best of 2009: bridal portraits | 01.05.2010 |
I'm wrapping up with my Best of '09 series with the bridal portraits since they are my absolute favorite thing to shoot at a wedding. I often joke about one day being hired to just show up and shoot the bride, and having some other photographer shoot the rest of wedding. There's just something special about a girl in a white dress on her wedding day. She glows. She's radiant and I take a lot of pride in not only making the bride look good, but making her feel good on her special day.
This was next to impossible to narrow down to 5 images, and I hope there aren't any hurt feelings among my brides who didn't get chosen, because I literally could have picked a shot from any of the weddings I shot this year, but I feel these 5 represent my style of the relaxed and gorgeous bridal portraits - plus all of these brides follow me closely on Facebook ;-)
As per usual, please vote for your fave(s):
This image features the typical [ b ] squat where I shoot down on the bride with a wide open aperture. In this case, the bride is in the front doorway of her parents house. It also works well in open shade on cement, asphalt or grass.

I love this up close & personal portrait. I've got my back to a big window and you can see my silhouette in her eyes. I focused on the bottom eye lash & let everything else melt away.

The infamous 8 minute portrait session with Jessica Claire.

I love the vibrant colors and her vibrant smile:

I like this one because it wasn't posed at all, she was just standing there waiting for more family portraits in some nice light and has a gorgeous smile.
