Miscellaneous Monday is back. Welcome to the randomness that is my life. _____ Today is one of the two days where there aren't any of the major professional sporting events due the the MLB All Star game. No baseball, no football, no hockey and no basketball. If you watch Sportscenter tonight, you'll see the anchors trying to make badminton sound interesting. The might even resort to showing soccer highlights or reporting on WNBA games. Yawn Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. _____ The All Star game is tomorrow. I am going to miss the game, but I'll watch it on Tivo. I'm looking forward to President Obama throwing out the first pitch. I hope he can throw a strike. There was a Westwing episode when President Barlett was making excuses about throwing with a bullet proof vest on. _____ Attention Brett Favre. Dude... retire already. Take a job at ESPN and let the poor people of Minnesota get on with their season. _____ Preferred Vendors. When I relaunched the new blogsite last week, I finally put up my preferred vendor page, although it's not 100% complete. It's hard tracking down all the vendors, getting artwork and posting the links, so I'll be adding to it often. If we've worked together in the past, send me a 140x90 pixel jpeg, gif or png along with a link to your site. _____ Did you guys hear that Michael Jackson passed away? I haven't seen a thing about it on the news in the last 4 minutes. Is he still dead? What's up with Tito these days? I didn't see him in all of the over the top media coverage the last few weeks (then again, I didn't pay much attention). By the way, I got flamed on Twitter & Facebook when I jokingly suggested that MJ's death was more similar to Anna Nicole's death than to JFK's, as some media people were comparing it to. As we are learning more and more, it does seem like the circumstances of his untimely and tragic death were similar to that of Anna Nicole's. Prescription drugs, custody battles, media circus, etc... Now they are investigating whether a crime was committed or if he was murdered. It's a shame. May he rest in peace, and may we move on with our regularly schedule programing. _____ Sarah Palin. What's up with her? Seriously... I am a registered Republican and I think she's an embarrassment to the party. The GOP gave up last summer when they added her to the ticket. I'm just sayin'. Did she really resign as Governor of Alaska to concentrate on running for the Presidency? Obama vs. Palin would almost be as big of a landslide as Reagan vs. Modale in 84. _____ The AC at my house broke last week and I am roasting. The repair guy can't come until later this week. Had to order a part or something. I need to get an inflatable kiddie pool for the backyard. I can work on my laptop from one of those. _____ I found a new beverage that may replace the Diet Coke for me. Has anyone tried the SoBe Lifewater? Zero calories and no aspartame. It has a natural sweetener and actually tastes pretty good. Thoughts? |

I took my dad to a matinee of The Hurt Locker this afternoon. I don't want to give anything away, but that was one intense movie and I highly recommend it. I felt like I was there and literally found my self sitting on the edge of my seat a few times. I feel like I need to go get a massage now to relax. Click the poster to watch the trailer. |

Me and a bunch of my friends also saw Bruno the other night. Totally laughed my ass off even though I felt bad for laughing through most of it. Vile, disgusting and obscene, but dang... pee-your-pants-funny too. _____ It's odd, Bruno was number 1 at the box office and most likely will be for a few more weeks. The Hurt Locker probably won't even crack the top ten at the box office, which is a shame, because it's an incredible piece of film making. _____ Tweet of the week (my favorite tweet from the last 7 days): Vegas is awesome! I just had a "little person" in a wheelchair ask me if I knew where he could "score some weed" and "find some bitches" LOL _____ Shout out of the week: My friend DJ made Show It available for FREE.
