venice art walk, pt.1

Yesterday, Keats dragged me to the Venice Art Walk in Venice Beach, Ca. She looks forward to going every year, so I agreed to tag along and check out some local artists. We had a really nice day and I am just thankful it was overcast, otherwise I may have roasted with the amount of walking we did. It was cool to check out the artwork of course, but I also really enjoyed checking out the studios and spaces for creating and displaying their work... gave me a few ideas.

I did a little photo field trip with my point & shoot camera to help pass the time. Here are a few of my favorites. Remember, all of these were taken with my Canon Digital Elph SD 40 which is my pocket sized party camera.

Check this out... this guy had an entire wall covered in a bunch of myspace avatar (mostly of models and sexy women). The funny thing is I recognized about a dozen models that I've shot over the years and a few of my images were even displayed.

I almost bought this, but then remembered I don't have anywhere to hang it.

This place on Abbott Kinney is being gutted. It would make a nice studio space for me if I lived closer.

This one photographer just painted the walls in the alley next to his studio with a bunch of different patterns & textures to make some nice backdrops. Smart!
