One of my New Years resolutions is to read more and watch less TV. So far, so good. I actually really enjoy reading, but with my crazy busy schedule, I have a hard time getting through an entire book in a short period of time. I often start a book, then finish it weeks later and then some of the original concepts are forgotten. Or sometimes I just get distracted or bored and never end up finishing it. And just to be clear, I only read business books and non fiction (If I want fiction, I turn on the TV or watch a movie to give my brian a rest).
But I have found a new solution that I am very excited about!
My [ b ] School partner Keats Elliott turned me on to a fabulous new service that is going to change my business book reading life.
It's called Brevity and it's like a ten minute recap of all of the important points of the most popular business books around. Kind of like a modern day Cliffnotes, but even better. You can download a short, easy to read PDF, with all of the main points from the book and there's even a little video introduction for each of the "briefs".
This week, they are discussing David Allen's Getting Things Done, which is a perfect book to start your year and help you get that mind of yours organized.
It's only $95 for a subscription that will last until March of 2010. There are like 60 weeks between now and then and there is a new brief each week. The sooner you join, the more value you get from it as you don't have access to any of the past archives. So if you sign up next week, you won't be able to see this weeks book, only future reviews.
Click the banner below, watch the fun little Business Song, then watch the intro video from the founder, Rick Raddatz and see if this is something that might benefit your life.
