As a photographer, I am always looking for good sources to get my website listed so that brides who are planning their wedding can find me. I usually don't pay for advertising, because my business has been built on word of mouth referrals and by taking special care of the clients I have. I do not pay for expensive ads on The Knot, or Wedding Channel, because number 1, it's really expensive, and number 2, you just get lumped in with a plethora of other photographers and it's next to impossible to stand out.

While surfing the net last week, I came across as site that promotes only the best of the best wedding and portrait photographers, so I submitted my work for consideration and I am excited that I was accepted, yay for me!

The site is photographik.org if you are interested in applying. There's a $20 non refundable application fee, so if you don't get accepted, it only costs you $20. and if you do get in, the $20 goes towards the subscription fee (as little as $99 per year) which is chump change compared to what a lot of the larger aforementioned sites are charging. Of course I opted for a feature listing as well as a spot on the destination wedding page, but it is still a lot more affordable than the other sites.

Also, If you Google "wedding photography" or "wedding photographers", Photographik is right near the top of the page on both searches, so I am hoping to get a lot more traffic to my website and blog.

ATTN BRIDES WHO FOLLOW MY BLOG: Post about Photographik on the message boards and forums. Let other brides know it's a great resource to find an awesome photographer, and not just random advertisers. It is also a great place to find photographers who specialize in fine portraiture.
