Hey there! My name is Becker and I am a wedding photographer from Orange County, California who specializes in capturing relaxed portraits, amazing details and real moments for the coolest brides and grooms on the planet.
This blog follows both my personal and professional life, and features images from the weddings I shoot, the places I travel and the friends and family members that mean so much to me. It's basically like my own personal photo album combined with an information source for my current and potential clients and a source of inspiration and education for other photographers. This site is a little more informal and I just want to give everyone a sense of who I am, and what I am all about. Thanks for visiting.
One month from today I'll be back in Black Rock City for my second Burning Man experience. I went in 2007 and had the time of my life. This time, I am going with several of my best friends who also happen to be photographers. We are actually going to be having a theme camp, Camp Photon and we are hoping to shoot as many images of the randomness that is Burning Man and display them at a party Thursday night Sept 3rd. We're also building a website that will showcase our work after the event.

I'd like to introduce y'all to the starting quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys for the 2032 season. Or perhaps, he'll be a switch hitting shortstop for the Houston Astros. I'm sure either of those occupations would be fine if his proud pappa has his way. No matter what the kid grows up to be, Mr. Nixon Hawke Sikes is lucky to have two wonderful parents who will love and support him along the way. My dear friends Gary & Jana gave birth to a healthy baby boy in the wee hours of Wednesday morning and mom and baby are healthy and happy. I popped by the hospital for a few shots earlier this afternoon.

Last night I was in Play del Rey to shoot some engagement photos. These two kids are getting married in just a few weeks and I am really looking forward to their wedding as it's going to have some interesting cultural elements (I'll tell you all about it when I post the wedding). We had a great time last night shooting in the tasty light and even were able to hang out for a bit before the shoot to discuss the details of their upcoming day over fried calamari and a brie & pear quesadilla.
I like this one because it's the definition of a relaxed portrait. Casual, comfortable, real smiles, not over posed:

I love the late light in this shot and I think the couple will like it because it's right in front of their house. (There is no Photoshop work done on the sky, that's just how it looked):

I want to give a shout out to my chiropractor Dr. Shane Fishbein. I've actually had back problems on and off since I was in Jr. High, but ever since I've been going to Core Chiropactic on a regular basis, I've been feeling much better. He also puts tips for good healthy living on the his blog.

Last night a bunch of us descended on Balboa Beach for the Kickball Extravaganza to celebrate Jessica Claire's 30th birthday. Her fiance Jeff planned the whole thing, got jerseys, wristbands, and even brought the eye black. I am please to inform you, that despite the numerous attempts to cheat by the Spitting Llamas, the Pink Fluffy Monsters were victorious an I was the winning pitcher (my folks are so proud)!

By the way, this coming Tuesday, Jasmine is hosting the next OC SMUG meeting with Jessica Claire as the featured speaker. I have a shoot that night, but I'll be there late for the after party.
I can't wait for this wedding. These two are tying the knot in Connecticut on October 31st. The groom to be was a groomsmen in my 07-07-07 wedding. We had a nice time catching up down in Laguna Beach the other day shooting their engagement photos. Here are a couple of my favorites:
